Golden Travelife Award

In just a short time span and already aQi has earned its first environmental award. aQi Hotel Schladming elected to go through a voluntary environmental audit in July 2012 and can proudly announce that it met the criteria of the Travelife Sustainability System and picked up the Golden Travelife Award.
The Travelife Sustainability System is an initiative created by the travel industry. It encourages travel companies to implement transparent, measurable environmental conservation, social development and economic stability measures. This also acts as a basis for improving sustainability at the local level where aQi hotels are found. For more details check out the Travelife Homepage.
Together Everybody Achieves More
The aQi Hotel Schladming always cares on its local partners within the region Styria. Our membership of the Schladming 2030 GmbH, the tourism council Schladming-Rohrmoos and the association of Austrian hoteliers covers only a small part of our activities.

Schladming
The Planai cable lift is actively involved in the renaturation of the skiing area. As the first »green cable car company« it practises consistent recycling and integrated waste separation.
Back in the 1980s the company started long-term plant tests to develop its own alpine seed mixtures specially suited for grassing over the slopes. The Planai and Hochwurzen slopes are now green throughout.
As part of the eco-auditing which started back in 2002 all procedures were investigated as regards their environmental compatibility –from the water quality of the Enns, to the breeding behaviour of the snow grouse, and to the plant diversity at 1,800 m above sea level. Nowadays the Planai-Hochwurzen lifts exceed by far the required EU standards.
This approach is in accord with the worldwide commitment to sustainable development practised by TUI Hotels & Resorts.
